Delivery times & changes

Here you can see which factors affect the delivery time, how to keep track of your order status, and up to when changes are possible.
Key basics
What influences delivery time?
  • Model & specification: Rarer colours/components can lengthen sourcing and supply.
  • Season & demand: Spring/summer and promotion periods are especially busy.
  • Logistics: Supplier lead times, assembly slots, shipping to the dealer.
Note: Your dealer will provide the expected timeframe and inform you of any changes.
Typical milestones (guide)
  1. Quotation/order at the dealer → estimated delivery time
  2. Production & assembly → dealer receives notification
  3. Arrival at dealer → final assembly, inspection
  4. Ready for collection → appointment & handover
Exact calendar dates vary by configuration and workload.
Changes – what’s possible when?
  • Before production starts: Adjustments are often still possible (e.g., colour, battery, handlebar). Please contact your dealer promptly.
  • During production/assembly: Changes are generally no longer possible.
  • After arrival at the dealer: Smaller modifications/accessories are often feasible (e.g., saddle, stem, pedals).
Tip: Always share your VELO ID with your dealer – they can find your configuration immediately.

Get an updated delivery time
If there are changes/bottlenecks, your dealer will inform you – follow up if needed & discuss alternatives (colour/part).
Add accessories afterwards
Coordinate with the dealer whether to fit them ex-works or at handover (e.g., rear rack, lock, lighting upgrade).
Important: Your dealer will provide exact dates. If it’s urgent, choosing alternative equipment or a different colour can sometimes speed things up.

Frequently asked questions
Why does rarer equipment take longer?
Rare colours/parts are produced in smaller quantities and can have longer supply chains.
Can I change the battery/motor afterwards?
Often possible before production starts – please ask your dealer as soon as possible. Usually not during production.
How do I stay up to date?
Your dealer will inform you when the status changes. With your VELO ID, they can access your configuration immediately.
What if I need it sooner?
Ask about alternatives (e.g., different colour/component) or bikes currently available at the dealer – this can sometimes be faster.
Next steps
Ask your dealer for the status using your VELO ID, communicate change requests early, and prepare for collection.
