Handover & setup

At the handover, the dealer sets up your bike for you, explains the functions and gives maintenance tips. Here you’ll find the checklist for riding position, display/app, battery & safety plus a compact quick selection.
Key essentials
What happens at the handover?
  • ID check & accessories: frame/key number; ordered accessories fitted?
  • Riding position: saddle height/tilt, handlebar height/reach, brake lever position.
  • System check: motor/display, assistance levels, gears, brakes.
  • Test ride: a short loop; fine-tune straight afterwards.
  • Service notes: first inspection, battery care, torque settings, tyre pressure.
Tip: Bringing your VELO-ID lets the dealer pull up your configuration instantly.
Riding position
  • Heel on pedal (6 o’clock) → leg almost straight.
  • Saddle tilt neutral (0–2°).
  • Reach: upright (comfort) vs. longer (sporty).
Cockpit & brakes
  • Handlebar height suited to your posture.
  • Brake levers: index-finger position; adjust reach.
  • Bell, lights and display easy to reach.
Tyres & suspension
  • Tyre pressure per weight/use (see sidewall).
  • For full-suspension: set sag, note click settings.
Software & updates
  • Check for display/motor updates.
  • Pair the app (account optional, system-dependent).
  • Have assistance profiles (Eco/Tour/Sport) explained.

Set riding position
Saddle height by heel method → short test ride → fine-tune saddle tilt/reach.
Pair display/app
Enable Bluetooth on your phone → open the app → choose system → pair & adjust profiles.
Start battery care
First charge to ~80–100 % → store cool/dry → day-to-day keep roughly 20–80 %.
Set off safely (lock/lights)
Choose a lock and optional GPS → check light mode → have component torque checked.
Note: Plan a first inspection after 100–300 km – cables, spokes and brakes will bed in.
