Charging & maintenance: keeping your vehicle in good shape

Here you’ll find the best charging tips for the battery, information on storage, and a compact maintenance routine for drivetrain, brakes and tyres.
Key essentials
Charge batteries correctly
  • Everyday charging window: ideally 20–80 %. For long rides, 100 % is fine too.
  • Charge at room temperature: 10–25 °C — removing the battery to charge is recommended.
  • Use the original charger & keep connectors clean/dry.
  • After rain: wipe briefly, let contacts dry, then charge.
Tip: If possible, don’t charge to 100 % immediately after a ride — let it cool first, then charge.
Store batteries & bike
  • Battery storage level: about 40–60 %, cool (10–20 °C), dry, and not on the floor.
  • Winter break: recharge to ~60 % every 1–2 months.
  • Bike: store clean and dry; check tyre pressure (prevents flat spots).
Note: Do not deep-discharge the battery (<5 %) — better to top up in time.
Bike maintenance routine
  • Cleaning: lukewarm water & bike cleaner, soft brush/microfibre cloth. No pressure washers.
  • Drivetrain: clean & lubricate the chain regularly; for belt drives, wipe dry and clean with water if needed (no oil).
  • Brakes: visual check of pads/rotors; with a spongy feel or squeal, have your dealer inspect.
  • Tyres: pressure as per sidewall; higher = more efficient, lower = more comfortable (mind puncture protection).
Service: First inspection after 100–300 km; thereafter according to use (e.g. every six months) — your dealer can advise.

Action
Steps
Note
Charge the battery day to day
Let it cool after the ride → original charger → charge to ~80 %.
Long ride: up to 100 % OK
Longer break/winter
Battery at 40–60 % → store cool/dry → check & top up every 1–2 months.
Avoid deep discharge
Clean the bike
Rinse off coarse dirt → cleaner/brush → dry → service the drivetrain.
No pressure washer
Service chain / belt
Chain: degrease & oil (sparingly). Belt: clean with water; no oil/grease.
Noise = clean
Check brakes & tyres
Inspect pads/tread → set pressure → short test ride.
Unsure? Dealer
Note: Never clean the battery/electrical system with a pressure washer. Protect contacts from moisture and inspect regularly.
Monthly check (2–5 minutes)
  • Check tyre pressure & tread
  • Visual check of brake pads
  • Oil chain / clean belt
  • Quick bolt check (bar/stem/saddle)
  • Battery condition; clean contacts
